Q. What is the nomination deadline to enter businesses into the 2012 Awards?

We plan to cut off all nominations at midnight, Wednesday December 22, 2011 CST. After we reconvene for the New Year (January 4th) we will begin the tally process.

Q. Is this award specific to a particular industry?

The D52 Awards is not specific to a certain industry however, we will first contact nominees based on nominations that fall into: Featured Businesses, New Businesses, Website Dominance, Insightful Business Blog, Diligent Direct and Email Marketing along with the Community Foundation Award.

Q. Is this award limited to participation to any specific group of entrants, such a members in an organization?

The D52 Awards is not limited however, we do look to our own network first to determine dominance. If you are looking to be sure you are presented well please visit http://directory52.com and begin with placing a Listings in the Directory.

Is this award specific to a particular geographical area?

The D52 Awards will be presented virtually in 2012 for the 2011 ceremony. Therefore, any viable business in any part of the world may enter as long as there is an awards category that fits their particular business industry. 

Q. Which category should I enter. There seem to be several into which mine might fit. Can you help?

Sometimes there may be two or more different categories into which an entry might fit. If this is your case, you will need to submit a separate entry for that category as well. Please keep in mind that the category(s) that you choose should truly match your business mission. Keep in mind that you win from a category that does not represent your business well you may incur unwanted business leads throughout your term.

Q. Will my entry be disqualified if it is entered into the wrong category?

While our judges can disqualify any entry that does not fit in the category entered, this is a rare action and taken only when an entrant has blatantly disregarded the category description.

In selecting your category, examine your strategic plan and mission statement. Look for ideas that stick out that will make sense to your business over the next twelve months. What was the audience? What were the objectives? The answers to these questions should help guide you in selecting the right category fit. As long as you utilize such a reasoned approach to selecting your category, it’s highly unlikely that our judging teams would make a determination that you had broken the rules and disqualify your entry.

Q. Can you tell me how many entries fall in the different categories?

No. We do not reveal the number of entries in any category or subcategory. You should select the category or categories you feel best fit the entry without trying to guess what the competition in a particular one might be.

Q. Will I get feedback for my entry if it does not win?

The D52 Awards will provide feedback for every non-winning entry that is submitted, except for those in categories where no winner was chosen. The feedback is a comparative graph of your program against the winning program in that category, based on the four basic criteria: research, planning, execution and evaluation. The information is considered confidential and is only provided to the contact person for each entry.

Q. Can I submit a Video as part of my entry?

Absolutely! Because we are in the technology industry it would be a wise choice to submit a video, mp3 or link to a video that you feel clearly demonstrates your business as the 2012 Awards Winner.

Q. Can I enter without a Video Embed or Videos?

Absolutely! At the judges table we will review your online presence to see how well received your business is online and through other vehicles. Without a video you may also send screenshots, SEO report, visual representations and other materials that highlight what video or Web content would have contained.

Q. How do I know if D52/TDN has received my entry?

As soon as your entry is submitted you should receive a confirmation email. Within 48 of your receipt you will receive a preliminary acceptance email containing time sensitive information. If you have not received any communication within 72 hours of submission. Please contact our offices at 1-877-638-7606 ext. 740.

Q. If my entry does not win, can I have it back?

All entries become the property of D52 and are not returned. Winning D52 Awards entries are kept for professional reference and then archived.

Q. Where and when are the Silver D52 Awards presented?

The D52 Awards finalists and winners are posted online in early March, and the Awards will be presented in a virtual awards ceremony March 12, 2012. All winners and runner-ups will then have their link and category available on our website for their annual term.
